Watts-ON Consultants has landed in Dubai! We have just concluded the first phase of an energy and water efficiency programme for a leading Hospitality Group operating in the UAE and the Middle-East.
Our client is committed to an ambitious sustainability & operational efficiency agenda and, as a result, has undertaken a “Go Green” initiative which aims to achieve the Green Key certification for their hospitality and leisure assets. Commitment to a sustainability agenda also requires a reduction in utility consumption and our Client is aiming for an overall 10% reduction in energy and water usage by 2020.
Watts-ON Consultants has used the Kaizen approach to identify no/low-cost measures and cost-effective capital projects at four, large hotels located in Dubai Downtown and Dubai Marina. These properties were very different from each other in terms of age, building services, market ratings and availability of municipal recycled water. The only common challenge is the extreme hot weather variations through the year!
Our work identified an overall decrease of 17% in utility costs, 13% energy savings and 12% reduction in water usage per year. These savings are going to be delivered through HVAC optimisation projects, application of containerised waste water treatment plants, advanced cooling system control, guest room water management and MM&T.
